Senior Systems/Operations Engineer (Orange County)

The position is responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support to Cloud Customers, supporting proof-of-concepts/trials/Customer purchases, operating and continuously improving our own Cloud infrastructures & offerings.
Other specifics include:
  • Support production Cloud infrastructure and applications
  • Use technical expertise to troubleshoot Customer issues and find solutions
  • Investigate and possibly solve bugs, performance, and scalability problems
  • Provide an exceptional customer service
  • Work closely with the Sales and Engineering team
  • Integrate, build, and deploy new solutions
  • Create knowledge base articles and documentation materials
  • Deliver occasional training to internal/external Customers and team members
The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
  • Technical knowledge at the IT Administrator level related to storage, virtualization, or applications that require storage
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Linux
  • Solid understanding of networking and storage fundamentals and experience in IP networking & storage technologies
  • Experience in large scale server architectures
  • Experience in Shell/Python scripting
  • Exceptional customer management, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to be on-call periodically to handle support issues after business hours
  • Ability to travel (infrequently)
What will make the difference?
  • Ability and prior exposure in reading OS level logs, system logs, and proprietary application logs
  • Ability to read and understand programming code
  • Knowledge of Automation Systems (Puppet, Chef, etc.)
  • Distributed systems experience
  • Experience with Openstack
  • Previous experience with open source software projects

Regional Sales Executive (Virginia, Washington DC, Los Angeles or Silicon Valley) 

Primary responsibility is to increase revenue and market share.
The candidate will work independently, proactively seeking opportunities to develop business targeting Enterprises, SaaS companies, VARs and colocation partners. Expected to work closely with VP of Sales, Business Development and Cloud Operations.
The position is responsible for growing Zadara Storage’s businesses in the public cloud, private cloud and colocation areas.  This includes the understanding of business goals and requirements, developing and executing against a quarterly business plan and quotas.

Other specifics include:
To develop and manage sales relationships between Zadara and all potential customers and partners the Territory Sales Executive will need to:

  • Establish relationships with cloud and colocation partners as well as customers.
  • Provide training for cloud and colocation partners on Zadara products, value proposition, VPSA technologies and competing products.
  • Provide support to the cloud and colocation partners for customer meetings and other end-user events.
  • Create demand for Zadara products by providing WEB trainings, cold-call sessions and direct sales support for all sales activities
  • Manage channel conflict using registration and other management tools as required.
  • Assist in developing cloud and colocation business strategies to pertinent departments within Zadara.
  • Create and manage the Territory Channel Plan to include: VAR recruitment and detailed development plans for both customer and colocation traction.
  • Identify demand creation initiatives ie; customer events and cold-call sessions.
  • Establish oneself in the social eco-system of Zadara ie; Linkedin, Twitter, blogs and other means to grow the Zadara brand
  • Meet quarterly and annual revenue quota.
  • Ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees within the company.
  • Performs related and other duties as required.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Must have 5 year + experience recruiting, developing and managing VAR and customer accounts.
  • Must have extensive sales knowledge in cloud computing, storage, storage networking, backup and other related topics.
  • Must have end-user sales experience and be a HUNTER.
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft tools; PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Must have very good presentation skills to varying audiences.
  • Must have strong team selling skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Previous experience with startup companies a plus.
