Next week, we’ll be kicking off the new year at Storage Vision 2015 conference. The conference (already in it’s 14th year!) will take place from the 4-5th of January, at The Riviera, Las Vegas. Data storage is the key enabler for virtually every facet of modern society and Storage Visions is the place to meet and hear from the innovators driving this technology forward.
Finalist in the Visionary Products Awards
For the eleventh year, the Storage Vision Conference will present industry creativity and innovation awards. The Storage Visions Awards recognize innovative storage solutions for real world problems, and I’m proud to share that Zadara Storage is a finalist in the Visionary Products Awards! Winners will be announced in Las Vegas.
New Models for Broadcast and Media Storage
The conference’s focus on creative storage for high resolution content capture and production is a critical one for the media, film and broadcast industry. On one hand there is a rapid transition to high definition (HD) and ultra high definition (UHD) digital environments, but on the production end of things, the film and television industries have been far behind in capitalizing on cloud technology.
The broadcast industry relies on high-performance computing applications with constantly changing files for dailies, VFX, ingest, rendering, etc. These type of applications perform better on NAS and SAN storage than on object storage offerings (which were designed to accommodate static files only), and require consistent performance, advanced storage features with security and data protection.
This year we’ve attended several broadcast events (including Cine Gear Expo in LA, and NAB 2014), as well as worked with our partners CoreSite (at their downtown Los Angeles data centers) and Huawei Enterprise USA to deliver new storage solutions that help the industry take advantage of as-a-service models for storage at scale with massive performance and reliability needs.
Speaking Session: January 5th at 1:00PM
Stop Buying Storage – How The Cloud Informs On-Premises Media Storage Purchases
Join me for my speaking session to learn more about how cloud business models are penetrating the media storage market and changing traditional purchasing patterns. Attendees will come away with an understanding of the growing number of options for private, hybrid, and public cloud storage.
This will be part of session D2: “The Sky’s the Limit: Opportunities and Challenges for Consumer and Enterprise Cloud Storage”.
I look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas! Happy New Year!
