Volocom Relies on Zadara for Enterprise Storage Services

Protection, security and innovation in data management

Milan, 28th February 2020 – The double-digit percentage growth that has been going on steadily for five years and the growing complexity of IT needs have led Volocom to invest in a path of constant innovation of its technological infrastructure and to collaborate with first in class partners for the various services. In this perspective the decision was to choose Zadara as a partner for enterprise storage-as-a-services.

In 2019 Volocom recorded a 50% increase in its customers, a significant growth that led to new challenges and new infrastructural needs: thousands of new sources monitored, the management of news archives for up to 5 years and decades of historical archives for customers, new projects that require ever better performance and greater efficiency.

In order to meet new needs and simplify operations and processes Roberto Sgroi, Technical Director and Matteo Diarena, Director of Innovation, have decided to entrust enterprise storage services to Zadara, international leader in IT data storage services, founded in 2011 and based in Irvine, California. In Italy, Zadara has a large storage facility inside the SUPERNAP data center – located in Siziano (PV) – where Volocom data is managed. The Company was chosen because it allows the flexibility of outsourcing without losing control over performance, reliability and security. Zadara uses a combination of industry-standard hardware and Zadara’s patented Virtual Private Storage Array (VPSA) software to deliver enterprise level speed, security and scalability.

Tal Rotem, Regional Sales Director – S.EMEA & India said “Volocom is a dynamic fast growing organization, as such they need a storage platform that meet their current and unknown future requirements, and without the need to manage it. Zadara is a flexible solution that can meet large set of requirements, it can be delivered in any location and in an affordable cloud consumption model. Zadara is proud to have been selected by Volocom, and we are looking forward to help them meet the challenges that the future holds”. As Sgroi and Diarena put it “Increasingly, storage is a strategic asset for us given the volume of information managed and the breadth of media sources monitored and Zadara has definitely met our current needs to improve performance, efficiency and security”
